Lunch With Packgrog

So I had lunch with Packgrog in the city.

Cool Beans! Actually Hot Curry.
We ate at a lil Indian fast food place on Fulton street. Good Food, decent service and seating.

Gave packy the Prog Power Goodies, (CD, Press Material and DVD) of which he was happy about.

Our chatting gave way to an interesting toy, his phone.

As we were sitting DJ Pellaz from seismicradio.comresponded to the mail list about Dead Can Dance playing in NYC (Radio City Music Hall) and Arron was able to read it on his phone.

His phone was so readable I thought, Hmmm, this is an interesting idea. I can stay on top of things even better.
I could even update my blog via a phone mail message... (as if it's that important!)

However, it certainly did make me consider the possibility of a new phone.
A hard proposition considering I do not pay anything for my current service.

We'll see what the future brings.

LOL! Yeah, getting mail on the Blackberry (7100t, in my case) can be very useful at times. At others, it can be an annoyance (spam), and I have to be more conscious about not looking at my mail when in the company of others, particularly non-geeks like my gf who don't quite understand the multi-tasking aspect of conversing and reading simultaneously, and take it as being rude. DOH! :P

It's a nice way to keep up to date, though, and allows for some nice network browsing on the train home(half of my LJ-reading is done that way now). There are newer models coming out, and the Sidekick does much the same thing in a larger but more finger-friendly format. I'm sure you could do some crazy hacks on such devices. Sweet!
