« Surgery Complete, Out of the Danger Zone | Main | Final Update on Tricia's Status »
January 24, 2006
All is well so far.
Tricia is doing well.
No complications, Just allot of pain and nausea.
I can't even imagine the pain. She can barely move without the soreness.
Then there's the bloated feeling of gases that were pumped inside the body that now have to dissapate.
We were told by one of the nurses they put carbon dioxide inside to inflate the abdomen.
The difficult part is belching it out which is causing excruciating pain.
The Percocet helps, but when it wears off... OMG!!!
She was able to sip water, ginger ale and broth.
Eat a few pretzels and a bite of a knish.
Hey, the Dr. said she could eat a steak if she was up to it..
She skipped on that choice.
She was able to get up and walk down the hallway.
So things are looking good so far.
The scars are minimal. 4 small incisions around the abdomen.
The remove it from the belly button. I can't get the image of it being removed from my mind. Sometimes it really sucks having a vivid imagination.
She should be home on Wednesday.
Those who want to wish her well can leave coments here, on her myspace profile Tricia on Myspace.Com or contact me directly for her email address. I'm sure she would love to hear from y'all.
She was happy to hear everyone's well wishes when I told her today.
A special thanks to Samantha, her friend who works in the E.R.
She made sure she got everything needed by going directly to the source when things went awry.
If I'm ever ill, I want Samantha to be my friend too!

I had a laproscopic appendectomy way too many years ago. The worst part was not being able to wear clothing for a few days as the CO2 left my system.
I'm SO glad to hear she's doing alright and I'm glad there were no complications! I'll try to figure out how to leave her a MySpace message :)
