Dr. Who ?

So, after seeing the new Dr. Who? series I have mixed feelings.
I knew what to expect, but for some reason, there's an old nostalgic feeling about the older series.

It took a good 75% of the way into the episode before I started to like the series for what it was. After watching it the second time around, it was even better.

This will probably be one of my Friday Night SciFi staples ! w00t for SciFi..
I'm so glad they took off Tremors. That show pissed me off so much I boycotted it!
How dare they cancel Farscape and put that shit on! Well bully for you SciFI.

Believe me when I tell you (like I've tried to tell EVERYONE else), the show gets a *LOT* better with tonight's episode, "The Unquiet Dead". it's darker, more gothic, and has Simon Callow(sp?) as a fantastically conflicted Charles Dickens. Pay particular attention to Gwynneth, as well. The actress will be playing a character named Gwen in an upcomming Doctor Who spinoff called "Torchwood" (an anagram of Doctor Who). Coincidence? >:)

Seriously, though. This episode is the measure for the rest of the series. Some episodes aren't quite as good as this, but most match it. And this episode is better than a LOT of the truly classic episodes from the original series. Several episodes, including this one, tread ground that the show never really had the guts to touch before. Clearly the writers are longterm fans who wanted to fill in some of the blanks, while keeping the old spirit alive. Starting with this episode, they do just that. This is where it gets GOOD! Promise! :)
