Tricia's post op followup Week 2
Tricia's post up follow up Week 2 revealed good results.
The Dr. said there was a little bleeding in the eye but that was to be expected.
The bubble is now at the 50% level, and Tricia still needs to remain in the face down position so the bubble can continue to push the retina against the back of the eye.
The ultrasound pictures showed a little more today and showed the retina being closer to the back of the eye, and no fibers tugging on it. (In comparison to the ultra sound from a few weeks ago).
Next week will be the third post op follow up.
At least she is out of pain (yet still can not see out of the eye).
The Dr. said this would be a very long recovery process (in the order of months)
The constant face down is wreaking havoc on her stomach.
(i.e. allot of naseua when she looks up and/or travels)
One nice thing that happened yesterday was a special card that came in from the place where Tricia rented recovery equipment.
They sent a smiley card that had a lil bandaid over the eye and a nice get well message in side.
Keep your face down and your spirits up!
It's pretty facinating what can be done today, Yet it still makes me queasy everytime I think if the procedure.

Here's are links about the procedure.

Tricia has to sleep with this special brace to help keep the face down position in a comfortable setting.

Tricia's eye operation outcome
Tricia's eye operation at at Lenox Hill, Eye , Nose & Throat center went well according to the Dr.
They had to remove the fluid from the eye, remove fibers that were attaching to the retina, then clean scar tissue that was behind the retina. Think a wire under a carpet was what the Dr. said.
It was a stressful day waiting for the procedure to begin then finally end.
Tricia arrived about 7:30, I at 9:00 (as I had to take the subway).
The appointment was for 10:30, but they did not bring her up to the O.R. until 12:30.. then there was a delay of an hour (unknown to us).
As time went on I grew more and more concerned thinking there was something wrong due to the length of time. In all it was just the delay of starting the procedure.
Phew....
Then to top it off, Tricia's Friend's Car (sabrina & samantha) was being towed when they got back to the vehicle. Supposedly the metered zone they were in was only valid until 4pm. They arrived back at 4:03 to find the car on the flat bed already. Sheesh!
Fortunatly they were able to pry the vehical from the towing company's grasp, then able to take Tricia home.
She is resting now.
She will have to lay on her face/stomach head down for the next two weeks as the gas bubble pushes the retina back in place against the back of the eye.
On Thursday we have the post-op follow up visit.

Tricia's Eye Operation Today
For those who do not know, Tricia is having her eye operated on today to prevent permanant retinal detachment. There are fibers inside her eye that are pulling on the ends of the retina lifting the edges from the back of an eye.
Think of when you peel the wax paper & aluminum from a gum wrapper.
We're all anxious about the procedure, which is why I have not been around much.
Trying to enjoy the time left in the summer before the operation.
For thos who want to pass on messages, feel free to do so.
Here's a link to some information

Thanks for all your support.

Loney Rock's Party

Bondie, Billy Wilson, Johnny Rock, Me
This this friday I met up with some old friends from my home town in Broad Channel Queens. I haven't seen a number of the gang in years. Y'all know how it is as we get older and more of life's tasks take over.
So John's Brothers Dennis & Bo decided to throw John (loney Rock) a 40th birthday party. I found out from an Email via Bondie and figured.. how could I miss out!
John, Bondie and I (along with Bo & Dennis) all grew up together. We used to jam in John's basement as teens, sometimes cutting out of school and work on tunes.
So this event hosted by one of Dennis's friends was thrill and a half to hang with the gang. Ian's band played for a good portion of the night, then Johnny Rock got up there and belted out a number of tunes.
I have some pics for those interested in my gallery here.

Lunch With Packgrog
![]()
Alex & Packgrog(right)
So I had lunch with Packgrog in the city.
Cool Beans! Actually Hot Curry.
We ate at a lil Indian fast food place on Fulton street. Good Food, decent service and seating.
Gave packy the Prog Power Goodies, (CD, Press Material and DVD) of which he was happy about.
Our chatting gave way to an interesting toy, his phone.
As we were sitting DJ Pellaz from seismicradio.comresponded to the mail list about Dead Can Dance playing in NYC (Radio City Music Hall) and Arron was able to read it on his phone.
His phone was so readable I thought, Hmmm, this is an interesting idea. I can stay on top of things even better.
I could even update my blog via a phone mail message... (as if it's that important!)
However, it certainly did make me consider the possibility of a new phone.
A hard proposition considering I do not pay anything for my current service.
We'll see what the future brings.
